Liquid gold and platinum 2,5 g Gold

Liquid gold or platinum are available in glossy versions for use on porcelain or faience.
They are used for the marbling technique in particular. They bring a refined touch in a classic technique. The effect is certain and the result is professional.

How to use the liquid gold and platinum?

The material you will use must be perfectly cleaned with turpentine. The surface to be decorated must be clean, dry and degreased.

Shake the bottles well before use. Make sure that the materials are homogeneous.

Be sure to use brushes only for these materials, with a different one for gold or for platinum. Apply carefully with a brush or a pen. The best is to apply two layers. Be careful as gold dries quickly! Slow drying with the appropriate diluent 174 or lavender oil if necessary.

Too thin layers could turn purple while too thick layers could result in gold flaking off.
Thanks to its ability to be very extensible, you can cover a large area with a small amount of gold.

Clean the tools with Thinner 174 for precious metals.

How to bake the Schjerning liquid precious metals?

The beginning of cooking must be at a low heat to evacuate the steam, not more than 350 ° C then the temperature must pass to:

• 700 to 730° C for faience

• 820° C on white porcelain and between 650° C and 750° C if they are placed on pigments or reliefs. Never burn the porcelain below 650° C! Gold would not settle!

If the temperature is exceeded, the metal may darken and crack.

How to store the Schjerning liquid gold and platinum?

These precious metals must be kept in their original bottle well closed and protected from heat or light.
