More info
Your work on porcelain has never been so shiny! Lustres are precious metals in their liquid form and they give to your work an iridescent or metallic appearance depending on the chosen shade.
There are 18 colours that can be mixed together to create new effects or to create a marbling. In addition, you can overlay colours without any risk. The intermediate layers dry very quickly.
These colours "glaze" the porcelain.
We recommend that you use equipment reserved for use with the lustres
They are ready to use and do not need to be diluted. Always work on a clean and dry surface!
Prepare your colours and blends if necessary. Do not mix lusters with normal colours!
You can use the lusters in various techniques: airbrush, brush application, buffering, scraping or immersion. Very little colour is needed to cover a large area. To buffer, spread the luster in regular layer with a large synthetic brush. Then stamp with the foam to make a uniform application.
You can as well paint on normal burned colours to give them shimmering effects.
The exact shade will not be visible directly after application. Once burning is complete, the final colour will appear.
Clean your equipment with Gold and luster thinner 174 or Gold and Platinum Thinner M350. Keep this material for exclusive use with the lusters as a residue should not be in touch with any other colours.
Before you put the lustres in your oven, make sure they are completely dry. The beginning of baking process should be at a low heat to evacuate the steam: not more than 350° C. After that, the temperature should be increased to:
700 to 730 ° C on faience
780 to 800 ° C on porcelain
These metallic colours should be protected from light and heat. The best is to store them in a fridge.
